Inspect the result. Keep the scope clear.
Camicus 0.1.0 is a public alpha with two implemented workflows. It does not certify an entire Mac or validate an assistant’s surrounding prose.
What a result means
Passed: the declared checks passed against the observed inputs or command output. It does not prove source claims true.
Failed: an observed requirement failed, such as a disabled control or invalid/missing weekly input. Inspect the reason before changing anything.
Unobserved: required evidence was unavailable, denied, unexpected or truncated. A missing observation never becomes a passing check.
The Mac listener snapshot is limited to current-user visibility. A listener is not automatically a vulnerability and does not establish internet reachability. Little Snitch rules, executable provenance and malware detection are outside this alpha.
Common next steps
- Existing output: preserve it and choose a new result filename. The engine never overwrites.
- Unsafe workspace: choose an authorized physical absolute path with appropriate ownership and no extended ACL. Do not loosen broad permissions to force a run.
- Missing or stale snapshots: restore current authorized inputs and review their claims. Changing a date alone does not refresh the facts.
- Unavailable Mac observation: keep it unobserved. Do not add sudo or perform repairs on the strength of this result.
Report a bug
Community support is best effort, with no response-time promise. Include version 0.1.0, macOS/Python versions, the fixed reason code and a minimal fictional reproduction.
Do not post real task records, machine receipts or suspected vulnerabilities in public issues.
Report a security issue privately
Follow the repository’s current security policy for its private reporting route and supported versions. Do not send secrets or private evidence through an unverified contact.
Source, license and maintenance
Camicus is maintained by Modern Labyrinth and released under the MIT license. The source, tests and reproducible build tools are inspectable. No savings guarantee, paid unlock or broad security assurance is attached to this alpha.
